In case you are joining us right now, check out the previous posts of this series!
For those of you who have followed along and put in the hard work – YAY! You have made progress and that is something to be celebrated!! As I said at the beginning of all this, you may get through this series with an idea of what you know you are purposed to do but it may still look a little foggy. That’s ok! These things are not 30 second, microwaveable answers. They will take time, and as you saw with the post on Reality, they will take some shifting and planning.
Now that we have identified the fear holding us back, found the clues that should be pointing us in the right direction, and assessed our reality we have some WORK to do!
I grew up my whole life hearing people around me saying all the things they were going to do. And you know what happened? Most of those things never happened. I’m not talking about someone saying they were going to be doctor, I mean, things like “I’m going to loose 40lbs. by summer vacation,” or “I’m going to finish this renovation project by the holidays!” The problem is they didn’t get put into action. They were just things being said into thin air.
It has put a desire in me to not say I will do something, unless I will absolutely do it. To be a woman of my word. I know everyone else wants that as well, and believe me, even though I want to be a woman of my word I STILL mess up! I don’t have it all together, but I am trying my darndest to get it together!
For you to take the information specific to your purpose and your life and turn it into more than words in the air requires action!
“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy!” – Dale Carnegie
The worst thing we could do is figure out what makes our heart wake up and then do nothing. Because then you fall right back into the cycle at the beginning of all of this : fear. Don’t go back to square 1 now, when you are now 4 steps ahead of the game! Get busy!
So finally, WHAT is it?! What makes your heart wake up!? If you have a vague idea, great! Write it down the best you can. Now start writing down the things you must start doing to get there. Do you need to take some classes? Start carving out practice time in your day? Have a talk with your spouse? Make a phone call? Whatever it is, I want you to write down 3 things to do now that will get you moving in the right direction. Not humongous things, either. Three very small attainable steps that can be accomplished this week.
So, they might be something like:
1. Talk to spouse about what I want to do by Monday.
2. Say no to ______ to make time to practice.
3. Practice 3 nights this week.
You know your dream. You know your reality. You have to put this into action in the way that makes sense for you.
Just some encouragement if you are questioning if what is making your heart wake up sounds out of place with the idea of using it to serve God. God doesn’t say only if you are called to church ministry or the mission field to use that to serve Him. Multiple times in scriptures he calls His people to serve Him with whatever they are doing, whatever they are gifted with. The same calling applies to you and me.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” – Colossians 3:23-24
I hope you are encouraged and energized to start using what you are gifted in, what makes your heart wake up as a blessing to others. In turn, that will be a blessing to you!
If any of you have thoughts or great news to share after participating in this series I would love to hear about it in the comments!! Let’s all share what God has been showing us through this so we can encourage one another on this road. And doesn’t it just make you so excited to read other people’s stories how they started doing what they were made to do?! I don’t know about you, but it fires me up! It makes my heart wake up!
